“attoq nitilisha”  – straight-shaped embroidered collar for a tunic for unmarried women/girls in Siwa oasis, Egypt.

Embroidery on black cotton fabric with a simplified pattern from a wedding tunic in Siwa. Pattern composition is the same for most but with variations. Embroidered by Siwa women.

 

Material: rayon or cotton embroidery thread on cotton

Technique: chain stitch, romanian stitch, cross stitch
